“I don’t care how long Abbas stays there—he never cared about us when he was free! I curse the day I gave birth to him!”

Hushpuppi’s mother lamented bitterly:

“The day I gave birth to him, people celebrated, danced, and rubbed powder on their faces. But I never knew he would grow up to bring shame upon this family.

I sold bread while his father drove a taxi, working tirelessly to send him to secondary school. We even paid to have him learn a mechanic trade, but he chose the path of a thief instead.

I wouldn’t wish any mother to have a son like Abbas. He has brought disgrace upon us.

People would tell me they saw him on that thing you call ‘social media,’ driving big cars and wearing expensive clothes. But look at me—I’m still selling bread, and his father is still driving a taxi on higher purchase.

Can anyone say I’ve truly enjoyed the blessings of having a child? No, they cannot. Let him stay where he is for as long as they decide. To us, he means nothing.

May Allah forgive his sins if he ever returns
